Wednesday, April 11, 2012

Hi, glad to be back again.  My first news is that Pearls Knitting Parlor is now open in their new location.  I
am happy to report that  I will be starting my classes of Beginning Knitting and Beginning Crcheting on
Tuesday, April 17,  Please call the shop for detals - (818) 707 1275.  More advanced classes will be
added as we go along.  would love to have the opportunity to introduce you to these two wonderful crafts.

For you knitters who are not beginners but may need help with a complicated stitch or pattern  or need a
pattern modified or even  designed just for you, I will be holding a workshop every Thursday afternoon
from 1 to 4pm.  no appt ncessary.   Drop in and visit us.

I recently enjoyed a surprising experiece i would love to share with you. During my knitting years in
San Francisco, in addition to the shop, I  designed patterns and manufactured knitting bags called Texas
Coin Bags, both of which  we shipped to yarn shops all over the country.  The last shipment of bags
was in the early 1982s.  So image my surprise earlier this year when I received in e-mail from Centralia,
Wa telling me that the sennder  had bought  at a local thrift store, a Jani Bag in perfect condition, including
the original tags.  Her e-msail told me how much she was enjoying it.  I was thrilled'

Hope you'l be able to pop in the ne shop and get acquainted  and check out what's new.

CATCHING UP

Friday, February 3, 2012

Welcome back loyal bloggers and greetings to new drop-ins.  Sorry for being among the missing for so long.  Happy to report I did not pass away or become incapacitated, it has just been the result of a very busy year including a move back to California after 10 eventful and fun years in Colorado with our son David and his family, his wonderful wife Cheryl (who originally opened this blog for me) and their two children Lauren and Ethan.

Shortly after our return here we discovered we were becoming great-grandparents for the first time and on Nov. 14th, Logan Shane Denihan made his debut.  So our comng back was great timing.

Getting back to the world of knitting and bringing you up to date, I will be doing workshops and classes at a shop in Westlake Village Ca.  Pearls Knitting Parlor has been open in Thousand Oaks Ca for three years and will be re-opening in Westlake Village in April.  Meanwhile I woud be happy to hear from you and especially knitters or crocheters who have run into a problem and need help.  Be happy to help if I can.

Happy Valentines Day to all , there is still time to knit a cotton washcloth and wrap it around a cute little heart soap to convey your Valentine wishes.

Happy Knitting and or Crocheting to all.

Repair Rescue

Tuesday, January 4, 2011

Want to be sure that everyone knows the I do most of the repairs as well as finishing and blocking for several stores in the Denver - Boulder area. If that favorite knitted or crocheted garment is in need of some tender loving repair, it can be dropped off for me at the Lambshoppe in Denver or Shuttles, Spindles & Skeins in Boulder.  Or you can e-mail me.

                              Again Happy, Healthy New Year.

Stash Bash

Friday, December 31, 2010

Happy end of 2010.  Sincerely hope for a happy and hopefully better 2011.  As part of the holiday happenings, our workshop group,  celebrated at the Denver Puppet Theatre on Monday, December 30th with a luncheon followed by a "Stash Bash".  We all brought yarns from our stashes that were left-over or yarns or tools or books that we had no further plans for as our contribution to  the bash.  We looked over all the goodies and took whatever appealed from others stashes and all went home happy.  We plan to do this again .  The puppet theatre owner had such a good time, she is sponsoring another bash January 27 (a Thursday) from 4-7  You are welcome to join us.  Check with their web site for more details.

As one of my New Years resolutions I am going to take much better care of my blog.  Again hope your holidays were happy.
